Kasey’s Bridals – River Oaks Garden Club, Hermann Park, and Rice University
Kasey and Robert were married this weekend, so now I can finally show off Kasey’s beautiful bridals!
We scheduled her bridal portraits pretty far in advance and, of course, it happened to fall on the day of the earliest recorded snowfall in Houston’s history. Unable to find a last-minute indoor location on a Friday, we rescheduled to another chilly day in December.
We started her bridal session at the River Oaks Garden Club, where Kasey and Robert later had their wedding reception.

She has such a joyous smile!

After the Garden Club, we stopped by Hermann Park for some more fun…

Kasey told me this was one of her favorite photos, she loved how long it makes her train look and how it shows off the back of her dress!

We were fortunate to have the most beautiful blue sky!

Rice University has some pretty strict rules about when and where you can photograph, so we slid in to our scheduled time slot and had some fun with their amazing architecture.

The wind wasn’t cooperating with us, it was blowing Kasey’s veil all around her face, so we modified the shot.

Since Kasey is total classic beauty, and Rice University is… well, classic, I decided to end the session with a very classic bridal portrait.

A big thanks goes to Kasey’s mom for joining us at the session, being a great assistant and one of the best “carbon based light stands” ever!
Amanda and Troy’s Engagement Session – Bryan / College Station, Texas
Amanda and Troy are married, so it’s high time I show off their awesome engagement session in BCS!
These two met while attending Texas A&M, so naturally, even after completing their undergrad studies, it was in College Station where Troy proposed and where we shot their engagements! We started off in the morning in downtown Bryan for a fun, retro feel…

Stairwells are always fun…

One of my favorites…

After downtown Bryan, we headed over to Research Park at Texas A&M University to the spot where Troy proposed.

Troy’s ties = *love*

Amanda and Troy had the great idea to bring along some bubble gum for some fun photos!

Thank you Amanda and Troy! Stay tuned for Amanda’s bridals and their destination wedding photos!
Carolyn and Jon’s Couple’s Session – Hermann Park – Houston, Texas
Carolyn and John are a beautiful couple that were in Houston from Louisiana celebrating their 10 year anniversary! As an anniversary surprise, Jon contacted me to photograph a session for them at the same place he proposed to her over ten years ago. When we met, it was easy to spot them because they were the only couple arriving in a stretched limo. (By the way, surprise couple’s sessions are a great idea guys!)

And here’s the spot, 10 years earlier where Jon asked Carolyn to be his bride.

I always like to have a little fun with sun flare!

And then an outfit change for something a little dressy and a little sassy…

Yes, I like to do crazy things, but this one? I can’t take credit for it. Totally Jon’s idea. Even with his dress shoes on, he scurried up the tall oak tree for this shot. He tried to convince Carolyn to join him, but she sanely declined.

Carolyn and Jon were so adorable and so natural together. It was a little different for me photographing a couple that had been together over a decade after shooting a bunch of engagement sessions of couples that have been together a couple of years. But after so long, they still had that adorable, romantic love for each other that was so endearing and refreshing!
Thanks you two for a great session!
Lattica and Dan’s Wedding – The Woodlands Resort
It’s been a busy, busy fall for me with bunches of totally awesome weddings, family sessions, engagement sessions, and bridals and I haven’t had much time for blogging! Now that Christmas card season is over, I’m starting to get caught up, and hopefully I’ll have more time for blogging!
I wanted to start back with a very special wedding from this summer. Lattica and Dan were married on a beautiful Friday this past June. Dan is currently in flight school training to be a pilot with the Air Force, and since he’s had a busy schedule with the military, they hadn’t been able to spend much time together in the months before the wedding. All that has changed now, since their wedding, Tish has followed Dan across Texas, and is now living in Montana (brrrr!) to be beside her man. Love knows no distances and they’re both making great sacrifices for Dan to serve our country.
They were married at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in The Woodlands, Texas.

Lattica pinned these inside her dress for her “something old” and “something blue”.

She had such beautiful beading on her wedding dress!

Lattica and Dan opted to do a “first look”, an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other prior to the ceremony. I’ll let the following photos tell the story:

Just like each couple is unique, each first look is special and different. More and more couple are choosing to break the antiquited tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony (a tradition that comes from the days of arranged marriages), for this opportunity to make the walk down the aisle a little less stressful. It affords the couple TWO special moments instead of just one, allows us more time for photos together (and the images that you’ll treasure most for years to come), and allows the couple to enjoy their wedding reception and mingle with their guests much sooner after the ceremony instead of making them wait for your arrival.

The wedding party goofs off and stays cool in the shade.

The two photos below are of the “Silver Dollar Salute.” By surprise, one of Dan’s friends who was formerly in the military, gave Dan his first salute as an officer.

Lattica and her bridesmaids watch guests arrive.

Definitely a favorite!

Tish and Dan share their first dance together as husband and wife…

I always love a little lens flare.

Ring shots!

Thank you, Tish and Dan!
Lucia and Ricardo’s Engagement Session – Downtown Houston, TX
Lucia and Ricardo are a perfect match. Ricardo is smooth and swave, Lucia is just the cutest little thing imaginable…
They met while working at Deloitte through a Deloitte Hispanic Business Resource Group and love quickly blossomed (it also turns out that Ricardo and I briefly worked together at BMC Software in 2005 when he was consulting there).
They love dancing, so we took advantage of the open floor.

I love bridges… and sexy dance moves.

This is definitely one of my favorites…

I have to give props to Ricardo for thinking we should shoot in front of this shiny wall on the back of the Wortham Theater. I just found this fun angle for a reflection.

Thank you Lucia and Ricardo for the hottest session ever!!
Ashley’s Bridals – Downtown Tomball, Texas
Ashley and Paul are married! That means its time to unveil Ashley’s beautiful bridals!
A long-time resident of Tomball, we headed toward the historic downtown area for Ashley’s bridals. First, we went to the newly refurbished train station for some photos with the bright red caboose.
Starting with my favorite, isn’t she just radiant?

I love her smile!

We just totally happened across this old, rusted barn. Its a perfect backdrop.

This building (I have no idea what it is), was in the middle of an old used car lot. It almost felt like a trash the dress session, but we tried really hard to keep her clean!

Following my usual behavior, I had to climb on top of this structure, weave in and out of the power lines, and suspend myself over the edge to get the perfect shot. So worth it!

This one below was Ashley’s favorite. I *reeeeeally* like it too.

And what would a shoot be if I wasnt laying on some dirty, greasy railroad tracks? (I love my job! Getting dirty and all!)

Thank you, Ashley for being such a trooper on your bridals and hitting up the most rugged spots in Tomball for your bridal session!
Jeanette and Aaron’s Engagement Session – Hermann Park – Houston, Texas
Jeanette and Aaron are flying down to have their destination wedding ceremony in Houston this weekend, so its time I feature them on the blog!
When they say that love knows no bounds, this fabulous couple lives it! After dating for a while, Jeanette followed Aaron up to Ohio because these two lovebirds are inseparable! Now who’s idea was it to fly down to Houston and have a wedding in August?
(Just kidding, guys!)

You can tell these two are sooo in love!

This one may be my favorite from their session… (but I don’t want to commit because with these two, there’s so many adorable photos!)

Aaron designed her engagement ring with their birthstones in mind to make it truly unique. Great job Aaron!

We found these silly umbrellas, so we took a “peek-sure” with them.
(hehe!)

Hat tip to my good friend Christine for the idea of the repeating chairs at the Miller Outdoor Theater (even though the seats are totally different now)!

This one may be my favorite too… they’re such good sports!

For our last shot of the night, we got a perfect blue sky and the little, tiny moon suspended in the air… (its okay, you can make fun of me… I know I’m a dork.)
Thank you Jeanette and Aaron! I’m looking forward to your wedding this weekend!
Chelsea and Jason’s Wedding – Vargos – Houston, TX
Chelsea and Jason are quite an adorable couple! They met over two years ago at a tent at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cook-Off. Immediately hitting it off, these two are now wed!
They had a fabulous wedding at Vargo’s Restaurant, and below are some of my favorites of their wedding!
Vargo’s did an awesome job of decorating for their stellar wedding!

Chelsea’s beautiful Watters Bride lace dress!

She found these cute stick-on crystals for her shoes!

Two of the most adorable and animated flower girls ever…

On her way out with her dad…

Right this way…

Doesn’t Jason look so stately holding the boquet?

The boys and their matching socks (so silly)!

I *love* peacocks… and at Vargo’s, there are plenty of them! We found this guy who was the perfect poser! And so majestic!

Chelsea’s mom dances to Hanna Montana with the girls…

Ring shots!

The yummy cake…

Who likes to party?

Did you really need to search that far, Jason?

Finally, the rose petal exit!

Thank you, Chelsea and Jason for allowing us to capture your big day!
Michelle and Stan’s Engagement Session – The Woodlands, Texas
Today, I am a woman of few words. While trying to get caught up with editing my eight weddings in eight weeks (plus some engagement, family, and boudoir sessions thrown in there), I’ve been neglecting my blog. So while I’d like to tell you how totally awesome Michelle and Stan are (like how she sends me the cutest little thank you notes for no reason at all – and I need to learn from her), I’d like even more to share their engagement photos with you! So without further ado…
Michelle and Stan are a super cute couple who are so much in love! They were brave and willing to try anything!

Michelle and Stan met in a super-cool way… At ballroom dance classes! Of course, they had to show off some of their moves!

Puppy love at it’s finest.

We asked two poor security guards to hold up a towel to block the sun for this next one. Engaged couples always have it easy getting help from strangers.

Next, they changed clothes and headed down to Town Green park in The Woodlands for some more dancing…

Thanks Michelle and Stan! I can’t wait for your upcoming bridals, Michelle!
