Out of Office – destination wedding in Oklahoma!
I’m typing my first blog post while heading down the road (don’t worry, I’m not driving – and I *love* modern technology) on our way to a winery in Chandler, Oklahoma.
I’ll try to respond to emails and phone calls as I get reception, internet access, and availibility, but I’ll be back to normal life on Monday.
Meanwhile, I’ll attach some iPhone photos of my trip!
Rebekah and Ryan’s Wedding (Part 2) – The Houstonian – Houston, TX
Yesterday, I posted photos from the first half of Rebekah and Ryan’s wedding at Second Baptist Church in Houston. Everything was gorgeous, beautiful, and seamless. When we arrived at their reception at The Houstonian, a transformer had blown so the elevators were out of operation, the A/C was barely working, and only a few lights were operating on backup generator power. But these two didn’t let that phase them. After they were able to get grandparents and those that required the elevator upstairs, they boogied in spite of the heat while the folks at the Houstonian worked dilligently to get everything restored.
Rebekah and Ryan’s reception kicked off with their heartfelt first dance.
Showing off the rock…

… and Rebekah’s gorgeous eyes.

Ryan’s grandmother baked the groom’s cake herself! It was a family tradition that she made a fruit cake. It was very yummy! Photo by Christine Tremoulet.

I always love the bouquet and garter toss.

Boys fighting over the garter… (his lady must have been watching!)

I’m not sure what’s happening here…

What a team!

Tears of joy.

Thank you Rebekah and Ryan! Your wedding was so much fun!

Rebekah and Ryan’s Wedding (Part 1) – Second Baptist Church – Houston, TX
A beautiful Saturday afternoon in April, Rebekah and Ryan were married at Second Baptist Church. The always brilliant Christine Tremoulet joined me at their wedding, so there are so many photos that I love that I had to split it into two blog posts! Here’s the their getting ready and ceremony photos with a dash of fun formals:

Showing the goods

Ryan’s grandfather officiated the ceremony. Before everyone arrived, he was reading over his verses.

Shoes!

Rebekah is such a classic beauty. Her pearls totally complete her wedding ensemble.

Rebekah and her father smiling as they watch the flower girl head down the aisle.

Christine captured these next two of a laugh at the altar and the processional.

I love this one! All the excitement and emotion immediately after the ceremony!

While I was shooting formals, Christine found a fun angle

I love big bridal parties!

Reception photos coming tomorrow!
Lindsey and Nic’s Engagement Session – Bouroughs Park
Lindsey and Nic are such a cute couple! They were wed in a destination wedding ceremony in Mexico, but I had the opportunity to take their engagement photographs at Burroughs Park in Tomball, Texas.
They knew each other in high school, but it wasn’t until after Nic served our country in the Marines and attended Texas A&M that they met again, fell in love, and the rest is history.

Fun on the playground! (Isn’t Lindsey a natural?)

Some swinging silliness!

This one is my favorite. In black and white, it just pops!

The sun finally peeked through the clouds to give us some nice rim light to highlight their love…

In this last one, Nic wanted to show off his Aggie ring.

Thanks Lindsay and Nic!
Mandy’s Bridals – The Galleria – Houston, Texas
Now that Mandy is married, we can now unveil her fabulous destination bridals!
Mandy, a Corpus Christi native, found her dream dress here in Houston, and since she fondly remembers visiting the Water Wall with her grandmother as a child, that’s where she wanted to have her bridal session. Technically, you’re not supposed to photograph professionally there because it is private property, but we quickly snuck in while the security guard was perusing a nearby parking garage. What can I say? I’m a rule breaker…

Next, brave Mandy hiked across the Galleria area in her dress to a nearby office park.

I *love* her dress! And the brooch was her own add-on, but it goes perfectly with her wedding dress! What a unique way to make your dress one-of-a-kind!

As I laid in duck poop and Mandy’s mom was all around silly, we were able to capture some photos of her beautiful laugh. (I always recommend bringing a close friend or family member to bridals so they can help fluff dresses, carry stuff, and act silly!)

My brides have the most amazing eyes!

She wanted a photo to show off her fun, leopard print flip flops. Isn’t she adorable!

Thank you, Mandy!
Downing Family Portraits – Tomball, Texas
The Downing family had me come out and shoot their extended family at their home. We started out around the pool in the backyard.
The boys…

After the formal posed photos, we decided to go for something a little more fun.

These two got along better than any siblings I’ve ever seen!

Sadly, this is probably one of my favorites. I love great silly photos!

We had to get a quick shot of the little one’s grandparents since they haven’t had a photo together in a while.

Finally, we got a handsome photo of Officer Downing in his Sheriff’s uniform.

Thanks for having me at your home! It was great capturing your family together!
